Oren R. Wallace

He was preceded in death by his parents Oren Sr. and Victoria Wallace.  He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia Ann, his sons and their wives: Don & Jackie Bentz, Phoenix; Richard & Nancy Wallace, Goodyear; Roger & Lynn Wallace, Buckeye; Joe & Kris Wallace, Gilbert.  He also had 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

 Born Feb 12, 1931 in San Jose, Ca., Bud’s family moved to Phoenix in 1936.  He was dedicated to his Catholic faith, attending mass with his wife regularly.  He was a graduate of Phoenix Union High School and served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the SS Rowan.  He also studied Electrical Engineering at Phoenix College.  He had a long and successful career in the Bell Telephone System and AT&T starting with line crew work and then working in the DDD (Long Distance) bureau, being promoted into various areas of management until he retired in 1983.  He worked at Glencroft retirement Community in Peoria from 1985 until 2005, making many friends there among the staff and residents.  He led a good life and raised a good and grateful family.  He will be fondly remembered for his love and influence in the lives of all his family and friends.

Rosary and viewing to be held from 5 to 8 PM at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, Thursday, October 14, 2010.  The funeral Mass will be held at St Thomas Aquinas in Avondale, 13720 W Thomas Rd Friday, October 15 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale.
