Herbert Kitchener “Kitch” Semmens, passed away peacefully with family at his side on September 17, 2016. Kitch was born on July 27, 1916 in Barlow, North Dakota, the third child out of eleven, and relished a century of lifetime adventures that others can only dream about.
He is proceeded in death by his sweetheart and wife of sixty-eight years LaVerne; his parents; and all 11 of his siblings. He is survived by his four daughters Janice Walker, Carole Bramble, Linda Audiss, and Connie Biskeborn; four grandchildren, Tim, Amy, Michael, Jason, and step-granddaughter Jon-Bree; fourteen great-grandchildren, Preston, Reed, Tyler, Wesley, Anna, Katherine, Aujalee, Alyssa, Ella, Malcolm, Lenny, Thomas, Spencer, and Jacob.
Kitch loved his family first and foremost, and always worked hard to provide. He proudly served our country during WWII as a Sergeant Medic, and worked for Gambles nearly forty years as a salesman and auditor.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ. Interment will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Avondale, AZ.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to Seasons Hospice, and a HUGE Thank You to his caregivers Aubrie, Stephany, and Adiam. You made our journey so much easier.
