Dr. Henry Landis, 94, of Litchfield Park, Arizona passed away on June 29, 2013. He was born on a farm in Mandan, North Dakota on January 16, 1919. He graduated from Dickinson State College. He went to the University of North Dakota to pursue his medical degree and graduated from the University of Texas in Dallas. He served his internship and residency in Denver, Colorado at Denver General and St. Joseph’s. He opened his own practice as a family physician and surgeon in Denver until 1987. He continued to practice medicine until reaching the age of 90. He served in the United States Army Air Corps as a flight instructor in World War II. He was a crop duster, and educator, a loving husband and father, a counselor and friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Helen and his three children, Brian (Carla) of Arroyo Grande, CA; TeriAnn Neigel (Larry) of Canyon Lake, CA; and Brent (Jan) of Chandler, AZ; and five dearly loved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Toni. A visitation and rosary will be held from 10:00am to 10:30am on Friday, July 19th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 539 E. La Pasada Blvd. in Goodyear. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 am. Condolences can be sent to www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
