She was born June 16, 1932, in Stigler, Oklahoma to Sequoyah Kenneth Coodey & Helen Jean Coodey, along with 9 siblings. They moved to Bakersfield, California in 1946.
In 1950 Helen married Earl Hilderbrand, her husband of 65 years. They moved to San Diego and lived in their family home in Santee, California for over 40 years. Together they had 2 children, Mikal & Darlene. June worked at Alturdyne for over 20 years, while her husband was a machinist. After retirement she worked tirelessly on her genealogy timeline, very proud of her family's heritage, especially the Coodey name.
Helen devoted much of her time and energy to her beloved family, her massive garden in Santee, drinking her famous black coffee and debating politics.
Mrs. Hilderbrand is survived by her son, Mikal Hilderbrand; and grandchildren, Aaron Hilderbrand, Jennifer Polansky & Michelle Mccain, and 5 grand-children.
