Gary was born to Charles and Rose Krasuna on October 5, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Rhodes High School and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy. After his time in the Navy, he earned four associate degrees while working full time and raising a family. In 2002, after a long career with Ford Motor Company, he and his wife, Norma, moved to Arizona.
Gary loved nature and was an avid mushroom picker. He was a talented artist from a young age and dabbled in many mediums including drawing, painting, and woodworking. He loved crossword puzzles and building model cars, airplanes, and ships. His favorite hobby was collecting recipes and cooking, and his passion was making memorable meals for his loved ones.
When his health failed, he bravely went through a brain tumor, diabetes, COPD, kidney disease, dialysis for four years, and the last colon cancer.
To everything there is a season
A time for ever purpose under heaven
A time to be born
And a time to die
When the colon cancer with dialysis became too much to bear, he bravely made the decision to stop dialysis and let God take over.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Charles Krasuna and his twin sister Gayle Gerst.
Gary is survived by his wife Norma, his four children Jeff (Debbie) Krasuna, Greg (Tammy) Krasuna, Kim Feeney, and Amy (Mike) Sveda, his step-children Sherry (Sidney) Smith and Mike Bruce, and his sister Karen. He also leaves 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren whom he adored.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, May 2, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will take place at a later date at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
