Frank Jimenez, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, son, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024. He was born in Canutillo, Texas, and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. After serving his country in the United States Navy as a boiler technician, he made his home in Phoenix, where he dedicated his career to nuclear technology and the Palo Verde Nuclear Plant. He was intelligent, funny, and approachable, making him a cherished friend to many. His giant heart and unwavering loyalty made him a pillar of strength for his family and friends. Frank's love for his dogs was well known; he treated them like his children. Frank was also a Jeep enthusiast who spent his time on off-road adventures. When he wasn't out on an adventure with his wife and dogs, he was at home with his nose buried in a history book. He was a history aficionado, with knowledge of military, ancient, European, and cultural history.
Family and friends will always cherish the memories of his quick wit, laughter, and unwavering optimism.
Despite facing an aggressive and formidable adversary, Frank fought with unwavering courage and determination. His victories over bouts of cancer were a testament to his strength of character, inspiring those around him. Despite all his triumphs, tragically, a secondary infection claimed his life.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Justene Jimenez; his mother, Adelina Jimenez; brothers George, Jaimie, and Victor; and his sisters Margaret, Irma, Isabelle, Cecelia & Rachel. He is also survived by his in-laws Quirina & Tim Alderman and his brother-in-law Scott Barr.
In keeping with his humble nature, Frank's wish was to be remembered kindly—a poetic reflection of his life,
a quiet farewell to a man who lived a life full of light and happiness.
A small, private Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
