Emma was 2nd of 15 children born to Guadalupe Rodriguez and Carlotta Martinez Rodriguez. Her early childhood was spent in Menard Texas. In the 1950’s her family migrated to UT and then Idaho shortly after. She attended elementary School in Burley ID, and high school in Oakley, ID where she was the first Hispanic cheerleader in the area.
Emma married Paul Espinoza on Dec 2nd 1962, and had four sons: Ricky, Andy, Joey and Michael. Dec. 3, 1978, she married Phil Leblanc in Elko, NV and had two children, Stephanie and Shawn. In June 27th, 1998 Emma married Robert Fisher in Mesa, AZ. Emma lived in Avondale AZ for the past 32 years. After Roberts passing, Emma became the guardian of Roberts daughter Camile Fisher, who she loved taking care of.
Emma enjoyed cooking for the family, being with her children and attending the Rodriguez reunion with her siblings and mother. She loved to go shopping at thrift stores and visit garage sales. Emma was known by her siblings to be kind and warm hearted. She was very compassionate about her beliefs and would help anyone in need.
Emma was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Baron; her father, Guadalupe Uriegas Rodriguez; sisters Carolina “Wecana” Rodriguez and Irene “Lalie” Hofhine; and brothers Guadalupe Rodriguez, Jr the 1st, Ramon Rodriguez, and Tony Rodriguez. She is survived by her daughter, Camile Fisher; sons, Rick (Cindi) Espinoza of Provo, Utah; Paul Andrew Espinoza of Pocatello, Idaho; Joseph Espinoza of Pocatello, Idaho; Michael (Amy) Espinoza of Salt Lake City, Utah and Shawn (Trish) LeBlanc of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters Luisa (Antonio) Barela, Susie (Dale) Jones, Dolores (Greg) Ralph, Lorina (Jamie) Hofhine, Dora (Ed) Thomas, and Lydia (John) Cook; brothers, Joe Rodriguez, Davy (Kathy) Rodriguez, and Lupe (Julie) Rodriguez, Jr.; and her mother, Carlotta Rodriguez. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A visitation will take place Saturday, April 2 at 6pm with the service beginning at 6:30 at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
