David Elson

David Richard Elson JR., 72, of Buckeye, AZ passed away September 26,2010 at his home in Buckeye, AZ.  He was born May 7, 1938 in Denver, CO to Violette B. and David Richard Elson Sr.  He served in the United States Air Force.  Mr. Elson moved to Arizona in 2004.  He retired as a Manufacturing Engineer and after retirement he then worked for Buckeye Elementary School Dist.  He coached numerous soccer and baseball teams, was a member of American Sportsman, Trout Unlimited and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne Ann Elson; daughters Traci E. Austin, Kelli M. Elson; son David Richard Elson III; sister, Helyn J. Thomsen; Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Kaila, David IV, Madison, Olivia, Ty and Jace.  He was preceded by his parents and Maternal Grandparents Harry Bentson & Minnie Bentson; and Paternal Grandparent Ulla B. Elson & George Elson.

A rosary service will be held Thursday, September 30th at 7pm at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd. in Goodyear.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:30pm at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Louis B. Hazelton Cemetery in Buckeye, AZ.
