Rose Ann Pollard House was born in Eagle Lake, Mississippi on April 7, 1950 to the late Jim and Lula Cross Pollard. She was the fifth born of seven children. Ann (as she was affectionately known) confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized. She received her primary education in Jonestown, MS and upon moving to Chicago, IL with her family, Ann finished her education at Farragut High School. Ann joined Mt Zion First Holy Miracle Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Levan Brayboy, where she was a member for many years before moving her membership to Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ralph Brown Sr.; where she was a faithful member until moving her residency to Goodyear, AZ. Upon establishing her home in Goodyear, Ann became a member of Word of Life Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Robinson. Ann was a faithful member of Word of Life Christian Center as well as an active member of the Sisters In Action Ministry until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Ann possessed a loving heart and was always attentive to the needs of others. She would willingly help anyone she could rather it was with a meal, clothes, a bed or just a hug. Ann never turned anybody away and you could tell because her house was always filled. She loved kids and at any given time any number of her nieces and nephews could be found at her house.
God blessed Ann to birth three children: Laconda, Curtis and Keshia whom she loved and poured her heart into; but there are so many more children especially on the 108th block of Wabash in Chicago who can give account of the times that Ann poured into or just loved on them when needed. In 1991, Ann met and married George House. Ann and George shared many happy years of love together until his untimely death in 1993.
God’s finger of love touched Ann on Friday March 8, 2019 at 6:05 p.m. and she received her wings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim & Lula Cross Pollard; brothers: Eddie Lee Pollard & Jim “Peter” Pollard Jr.; sisters: Lula (Bay-Lu) Thomas & Sarah (Scrap) Battee and one sister in love Eva Mae Rhodes Pollard.
Ann leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters: Laconda Pollard Hall and Keshia Pollard of Goodyear, AZ; one son Curtis L. Pollard of Avondale, AZ; one son- in-love, Donovan Hall and one daughter-in-love, Sophia Pollard; ten grandchildren: Roushella, Ciera (Kalvin), Danyea, Kyle, Curtis II, Troy, Trishauna, Corey, Bradley and Eboni Rose; twelve great grandchildren: Tajeem, Khailah, Malique, Curtis III, Courtney, Noah, Charli-Mae, Ja’ Shone, Cayden, Chloe Ann, Dae’brion, and Nova; three brothers: John Henry Pollard.
