She was born November 20, 1935 in Denver, Colorado, to Robert and Ruth Newbury.
Ms. Meeks compassionately and lovingly cared for more than 20 foster children over the years in Phoenix.
Ms. Meeks is survived by daughters Michele Bullard and Tamara Melton, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, sister Ann Hixson (passed away May 19, 2015).
Ms. Meeks is preceded in death by her husband J.O. Meeks Jr., parents, grandparents, and son Jackie.
