Wallace Richard Kinkade went to his Heavenly Home on December 27, 2024. He was the 4th child of 5 born in Detroit, Michigan to Neora and John Kinkade. The family moved back to Nashville, TN when he was a year old. They lived in Cheatham Place Projects and that is where he met his precious wife, Martha Helen Jones. They had the ultimate love story of meeting in the 9th grade, only dating each other. They were members of the National Honor Society, worked on the Yearbook and the School Newspaper. They were married for 65 years before Martha’s passing in 2013.
Wallace and Martha married on September 3, 1948 after graduating high school. Wallace served in the Air National Guard for 12 years. He worked for and served as Secretary/Treasurer for Nashville Machine Company for 36 years until his retirement in 1998. He loved working there and his co workers, especially Don Orr.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, John and Neora Kinkade, and his brothers Johnny, Leon, and Jimmy. Wallace is survived by his three wonderful children, Rick (Nancy) Kinkade, Patty (Randy)Fought and Tommy (Cecily) Kinkade whom he loved very much. The family grew with their grandchildren Sherri (Jeff) Hodge, Nick Kinkade, Beth (Michael) McKay, Thomas (Amber) Kinkade, and Katie Heath. He also had nine beautiful great grandchildren Abigail, Matthew, Harper, Peyton, Riley, Pierce, Bennett, Bailey and John Wallace. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Combs and many loved nieces, nephews and their families.
Wallace lived a life full of love for God, family, friends and his fellow man. He served so many through his benevolent acts, especially his beloved Jackson Park Church of Christ family. He was particularly thankful for his spiritual growth from Jim Olive and Ed Warren. Through his loving acts to feed the hungry, house the homeless, teaching Bible classes, serving as a deacon and elder for over 30 years, many lives were saved for Christ. He loved the youth and going to camp. He loved to sing in the group with Ed Warren, Doug Foster and Barry Gibson. Many lifelong, wonderful memories were made if you knew Wallace.
The family would like to thank the staff at NHC Place in Gallatin, TN for their love and care of Wallace. He commented many times how much he loved them and how kind and caring they all were to him.
