Vernon Ray Parker

Vernon Ray Parker, age 73, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015. He was born Friday, April 24, 1942 in Houston County, TN and is preceded in death by his parents, Nolen and Lottie Harris Parker; siblings, Frances Rogers, Landy Parker and Bernice Lyle.

Mr. Parker a member of Dickerson Road Baptist Church worked for Roadway as a fork lift operator and was past master of Jere Baxter Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Lemon Parker, his son, Darren R. Parker and his wife Donna; sister, Susie Toney; brothers, Charles and Billy Parker.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 1:00 Monday, July 6, 2015 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Johnson officiating. There will be a Masonic Service prior at 12:30.

Serving as pallbearers are Todd Parker, Chris Parker, Tim Parker, Willie Lyle, Steve Rogers, Eddie Parker and Randy Toney.

Following the service the family will gather for the entombment in Woodlawn’s Cross Mausoleum 660 Thompson Lane Nashville, TN. 37204

Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Parker at a visitation Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 S. Dickerson Road Goodlettsville, TN 37072
