Samuel J. Martz, age 95, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015. Born Sunday, February 22, 1920 he is preceded in death by his parents, Seth and Lydia Martz; his first wife, Clella Swaim and second wife, Valda Murphy Martz.
Founder of Memorial Bibles, Int., Mr. Martz is survived by his daughter, Rita Joan (Henry) McGuffey; son, Dwight “Marty” (Elizabeth) Martz; step-children, Brenda Murphy Johnson, Richard Leroy (Julianne) Murphy; grandchildren, Karen Kendall Earp, Robert Kendall, Jr., Sharon Kendall Harmon, Shellie Martz Foxx, Missy Martz Thorsell, Sam Martz, Lydia Martz Jacobs; step-grandchildren, Melynie Johnson Tooley, Valorie Johnson Mixon, Renee Johnson King, Marsharee Johnson Wilkens, Richard Murphy, Jr., Nicole Murphy, Asher Murphy; sister-in-law, Alma Martz; many beloved nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 Monday, July 20, 2015 in the chapel of Forest Lawn with Myron Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Martz at a visitation Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 and Monday, July 20, 2015 from 12:30 until 2:00.
