Michael Timothy Mayes

Michael T. Mayes, age 60, passed away Tuesday April 2, 2024. He is survived by wife Teresa Mayes, son Timothy Mayes, sister Marsha Beam, brother Johnny Mayes, grandchildren Mason Springer, Noah Harper, Scarlett Harper, Lilith Hitt, two nephews Scott Mayes and Brian Beam, and two dogs Rocky and Jack.

He is proceeded in death by his daughter Brittney Garland, his mother Mattie Lou Mayes, his father Byron Mayes, his brother Irvin Mayes, and his dogs Bambi, Smokey, and many more.

He was a diesel tech and mechanic for 33 years. 18 of those years were spent at Peterbuilt Nashville and the other 15 were spent at MHC Kenworth. He loved his family and enjoyed working on trucks.

He loved every moment he got to educate the people around him about mechanics. He also loved Nascar and racing. When he couldn’t find it on the tv, then by god he will have a way on his phone to watch it. He enjoyed talking with friends on the phone and mentoring those who called him with questions.

His greatest achievement was having a family to love, that loved him.

Making the ones around him smile and laugh at things you probably shouldn’t be smiling or laughing at.

He also enjoyed a drink or two, so with a shot we celebrate him and his life.

A visitation for Michael will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Monday, April 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home

A celebration of life service will occur 12:00 PM Monday, April 8, 2024 with Pastor Richard Gilbert officiating.
