Joe Ray Pickering

PICKERING, Joe Ray, born August 4, 1928 and died on October 8, 2010 at the age of 82. A resident of Nashville, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Sudberry Pickering; two sons, Dennis (Pam) Pickering of Columbia, TN and Barry (Camille) Pickering of Bowling Green, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Joe D. (Sarah) Pickering of Sring Hill, TN, Caleb (Stacey) Pickering of Old Hickory, TN, Stephen Pickering of Lexington, KY, Kali (Nathan) Richards of Nashville, TN, Erin (Darren) Dehut of Spring Hill, TN and Leah Pickering of Columbia, TN; four great-grandchildren, Lena, Megan, Luke and Charlotte. Joe retired from Beatrice Foods after 39 years of service, and was an aviation enthusiast, a member of the Hendersonville R/C Club and a Deacon of the Millersville Church of Christ. Funeral services will be on Tueday, October 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM, with visitation Monday from 3:00 – 8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN. Interment will be on Tuesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
