Bettye Jo Sanders, age 92, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Jo was born Tuesday, September 13, 1932 in Old Hickory, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Stanton and Eva Johnson Gibbs and her beloved sister, Mary Elizabeth Roberts (Bill).
A member of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church and served as a volunteer at Memorial/Skyline Hospitals for 52 years.
Jo is survived by her husband of 74 years Owen Sanders; her children, Sheri Calonge (Terry), Teri Sanders, Eric Sanders (Jennifer). Grandchildren: Scot Calonge, Ryan Calonge, Erica Myers (Lee), Jenna Sanders; Great-Grandchildren: Tanner Calonge, Presley Calonge, Greyson Calonge, Camden Calonge, Lyla Myers, Lucy Myers, Nolan Myers; Her beloved sister: Linda Briggs (Wayne).
A visitation for Jo will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church Street Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Speakers: Chris Seifert, Pastor, Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, Rob Wheeler, Jo and Owen’s friend and neighbor, Scott Perry, President, Memorial Foundation.
Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Alan Banks, Philip Siever, Keith Edwards, Bob Frech, Tim Carnahan, Steve Smith, Barry Potts, Don (Bud) Huffines; serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Jo and Owen’s Grandsons and Great Grandsons, The Builders Sunday School Class at Connell Memorial UMC.
