A native of Michigan and resident of Gonzales, Thomas Aben passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the age of 67. Thomas was a US Navy Veteran, professional welder and diesel mechanic. He was passionate about weight lifting, was known for his positive outlook, and had a killer sense of humor. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Jean Harris and Thomas Harris, Cherilyn Jane Halpen and Sean Halphen; brothers, John Aben, Dan Aben, Tim Aben; grandchildren, Thomas Harris Jr., Patricia Harris, Nicole Halphen, Madison Halphen; great grandchildren, Harleigh Scarborough, Camden Scarborough; preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. Aben and Evelyn Promo Aben; and wife, Patsy Jane Aben. Interment took place in Oaklawn Cemetery in Centerville, Mississippi, Friday, July 11, 2014.
