The angels sang and his earthly family grieved the passing of Ted Wax on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was born March 10, 1931, in Plaquemine, LA, and a longtime resident of Gonzales, LA. He attended Catholic High School, worked for Baton Rouge City Police, motorcycle division, for several years then went to work and retired at Ormet Corp. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He fought at the Chosin Reservoir, one of the bloodiest firefights in the history of the U.S. Marine Corps. That experience developed his character and integrity for the rest of his life. He lived his dreams, marrying the love of his life, Sherry, a.k.a. "My Little Bride", writing and publishing a book about his family. "Newsweek, Sept. 21, 1992" did an article about his book. He certainly enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a licensed private pilot who enjoyed taking his family on trips and he always had a generous heart to assist anyone that might need flights for emergency or medical purposes. One of his favorite pastime was cooking for his family, his great crab, crawfish and shrimp boils, his favorite delicacies for the holidays. He always enjoyed the food and the fellowship, the more the better. He was not only the life of the party but so much more in our lives. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sherry Simmons Wax; son and daughter in law Ted Jr. and Darlene Wax; Daughter and son in law Sally and Dickie Henry; grandchildren and spouses, Theresa (Scooter) Templet and Lawry, Krissy Guillory and Toby, Davey Decoteau and Rebecca, Caleb Decoteau and Jodi, Ashley Decoteau and Jory Villar; great grandchildren Brant and Tori Templet, Austin Mire, Kyndal and Tyler Guillory, Cullen Edmonston, Gracie and Jerzie Decoteau, Kate Decoteau, Braize and Dason Decoteau; sister and brother in law, Emily (Angel) Patterson and Bob; great great grandson Tripp Guillory.
