Sylvia entered into eternal rest at her home in St. Amant, Louisiana, which was her final wish, on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the age of 81.
She was born on May 17, 1940 in Thibodaux, Louisiana to the late Solomon and Althea Hannah Jr. Survived by her husband, Byron T. Mire; children Kim (Paul) Suir and Michael (Jancy) Templet; grandchildren Kelli (Jason) Broussard, Kristopher (Melanie Trevino) Suir, Kuin Suir, Laci (Trey Stevens) Templet, and Lyndsi (Ryan Herring) Templet Roberts; great-grandchildren Brailin Broussard, Blake Broussard, Wyatt Suir, Lily Suir, Quin Suir, Karter Suir, Klyde Suir, Klara Jo Suir, Samuel Roberts, Peyton Roberts, Oren Stevens, and Owen Stevens; siblings Barbara Gautreau, Charles “Buddy” (Sandra) Hanna, and numerous other family members. Preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Ray Templet; siblings Carroll “Tot” “Killer” Hanna and Sheila Hanna. Sylvia was retired for the Ascension Parish School Board with 25 years of service as a school bus driver. She was also employed at Zales Jewelers for 12 years. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ours Funeral Home in Gonzales, Louisiana on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 9:00am until services at 12:00 noon. Burial immediately following at New River Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kristopher Suir, Kuin Suir, Wyatt Suir, Jason Broussard, Blake Broussard, and Ty Haas.
