Laura Smith

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Laura Mae Kimble Smith, a loving wife, devoted mother, treasured grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a friend to all whose lives she has touched. On December 22, 2024, She received her Heavenly wings have while surrounded by her Husband, children and grandchildren.

She was born on July 10, 1944, in Melville, LA and grew up in Simmesport, LA. She is the beloved wife of 60 years to Sam Smith, Sr., Daughter and Sons - Karen (Peter) Guidry, Sam (Jenny) Smith, Jr. and Billy (Dawn) Smith. Grandchildren Aimee’, Nicole, Sara, Morgan, Clay, Jessica, Emma, Sophie and Mytrail. Great-grandchildren Ayden, Avery, Michael, Alexandra, Aailyah and Charlie as well as special nieces Josie (Al) McGinnis, Malinda (Bruce) Dupont.

Services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 with viewing from 9:00am to 12:00pm with services following at the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Livingston, LA with Bro. Paul Taylor officiating. Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by parents Bill and Grace Kimble, In-Laws Herman and Letha Smith, Sister Catherine Smith whom we know were waiting for her at the gates of Heaven. The only thing she loved more than her family was her Lord and Savior. Her life was a living example of the love of Jesus Christ.

Pallbearers to be Justin Johnston, Ayden Johnston, Alex Breaux, Eric Dexter, Jim Perrodin and Mytrail Whitehead.
