Kearney Joseph Lee

A lifelong resident of Sorrento, he passed away at his home surrounded by family on the early morning of Wednesday, November 27, 2013. He was 80 and a U.S. Army veteran. Kearney was a graduate of St. Amant High Class of 1952. He had retired from Picou Builders Supply as a Yard Manager. He enjoyed the time spent with friends at the McElroy Hunting Club where he was a lifetime member. He loved taking care of his vegetable garden and any free time he had was spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan Marchand Lee; daughters and sons in law, Laurie Peno of Gonzales, Lynne Keller and husband, Chris of Lake, and Lydia Gautreau and husband, Quin of Gonzales; sons and daughters in law, Lonny Lee and wife, Jamie of Gonzales, Larry Lee of Sorrento, Leonard Lee and wife Dawna of Baytown, TX and Lance Lee and wife, Lacie of Madison, MS; sister, Clara Melancon of Sorrento; brother, Smitty Lee and wife, Annabelle of Gonzales; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Emma "Bell" Trabeau Lee; brothers, O'Neal Lee, Orillian Lee and Louis Lee, Sr.; and a granddaughter, Darcee Lee. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 5 pm to 9pm. Visiting will resume at St. Anne Catholic Church, Sorrento on Saturday from 8:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow in Holy Rosary Mausoleum, St. Amant. Pallbearers will be Shane Peno, Christopher Peno, Jeremy Banker, Cody Gautreau, Cade Gautreau, Luke Lee, Logan Lee, and Zachary Banker. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Lee, Larry Paul Lee, Jr., Landry Lee, and Dade Keller.
