Joseph Lee Gregoire

A native of Head of Island and resident of Gonzales, he passed away early Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Chateau D'Ville Retirement Home in Donaldsonville. He was 88. He retired after 32 years of service as a Potroom Foreman with Kaiser Aluminum, which allowed him to travel the world. He also served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Visiting will be at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Whitehall on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 8:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial to follow in Maurepas Community Cemetery. He is survived by his daughters, Olivia Vicknair (Charles), Juanita Ann Crystal (Victor), Cheryl Falcon (Murphy), and Mechelle Gregoire (Ray); sons, James P. Gregoire and Anthony Gregoire (Cherri); sisters, Viola Hoover and Elmire Gregoire; brother, Reno Gregoire, Sr.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and his lady friend, Mercy Babin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Langdon Gregoire; second wife, Millie Cowen Gregoire; a son, Michael Gregoire; parents, Dewey and Emma Picou Gregoire; a brother, Joseph Dewey Gregoire; and his sisters, Ella Hurlbert, Lillie Marchand, and Betty Smith. Pallbearers will be Timmy Vicknair, Kevin Vicknair, Jonas Crystal, Shawn Crystal, Blain Gregoire, Carlos Gregoire, Devan Gregoire, and Scott Whitaker.
