Mr. John "JD" D. Broussard Jr.

A native of Prairieville and a resident of St. Amant, John D. "J.D." Broussard Jr. was born Sept. 11, 1931, and died Tuesday, March 16, 2010. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Wednesday, March 17, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at Sorrento Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment in Richardson Cemetery, Sorrento. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Willa Broussard; daughters, Phyllis Stevens and husband Bob, Carla Dorris, Gwen Martin and husband Tim, and Darlene Taylor and husband Greg; sons, Mike Broussard and wife Marsha, Steve Broussard and wife Tammie, and Jerry "Jug" Broussard and wife Cindy; sisters, Geneiva Richardson, Elizabeth Case and husband Tommy, Julia Roddy and husband Totsy, Margeret Ficklin, and Susie Thomassie and husband Leslie; brothers, Kenny Broussard and wife Cindy, and Joe Broussard and wife Geri; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, John D. Sr. and Gladys White Broussard; son, Michael Murphy; granddaughter, Katelin Dorris; and brothers, Sydney Broussard and Shelton Broussard. Pallbearers will be Mike Broussard, Steve Broussard, Jug Broussard, Jared Taylor, Michael Taylor and Jeremy Martin.
