John "Big John" Kevin Andermann

A native and resident of Convent, he passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012. He was 48 years old, worked for St. James Stevedoring as a long shoreman, and was a talented woodworker and carpenter. He was also an avid sportsman and outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and boating.

He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Mire Andermann; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Paulette and Tim Templet, Lisa and Gary Kidd, and Carla and Rusty Schexnaydre; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Clark and Loretta Andermann and Cary Andermann; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sam J. Andermann Jr.

A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Convent on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Vincent Dufrene. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brennan Templet, Zane Kidd, Ian Kidd, Grant Kidd, Aaron Andermann, Rusty Schexnaydre, Jesse Schexnaydre, and Joey Mire.
