Jimmie D. Walls

GONZALES-Funeral services will be held for Jimmie D. Walls, age 88, at Ourso Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 12:00 PM. A visitation will precede the service starting at 10:00 AM and ending at service time. Burial will take place at 3:00 PM at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Mt. Hermon, Louisiana.

A resident of Gonzales, Mr. Walls passed away on Tuesday, November 04, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Mr. Walls was a United States Navy veteran having served in WWII. He was a proud member of the local 406 Operating Engineering Union, American Legion and the local Corner Bar.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred “Millie” Maples Walls; daughter, Denise Lunday and husband Edward Lunday; son, Jimmie Dean Walls and wife Cathy Walls; sister, Martha Pearson; brothers, Jessie, Harley and Jerry Walls; grandchildren, Virginia Taylor, Brandson Delrie, Bridgette Watson, Jessica Deon, Justin Walls, Micah Adam Lunday; great-grandchildren, Hayleigh, Skylar, Branson, Aailah, Aaiden, Shaye, Rani, Maddie, Landyn, Josie, Sonny, Jacob, Emma and baby Walls.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Ophelia Walls; brother, David Walls; sister, Ruby Keaton; daughter, Sherry Walls and son, Michael Walls.

Pallbearers will be Micah Adam Lunday, Justin Walls, Christopher Deon, Donnie Maples, Gene Bashrum and Jessie Walls.

The family would like to extend their most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the ICU staff as St. Elizabeth Hospital for the love and care they provided to the family.
