James E. “B.B.” Babin, a life-long resident of Gonzales, passed away suddenly at his home on August 28, 2021 at the age of 85. He was a graduate of Gonzales High School and a retired business owner.
He enjoyed golf, LSU baseball, playing hearts with his card buddies, spending time with his faithful dog, George, eating out and visiting his favorite spots around town.
He is survived by his children: Terri Babin Stafford (Mike), Tim Babin (Charmaine), Troy Babin (Leslie), Toni Babin, Lanessa Babin Parker (Jimmy), Tiffany Babin Savoy (Ricky) & Baylie Babin; grandchildren: Jacé Templet Babin (Beau), Michael Stafford (Jordyn), Timmy Babin (Kristin), Tabitha Babin Wilkins (Kenny) & Tara Babin, Matthew Babin (Kate), Mallory Babin Cannon (Andrew), Jon Paul & Jacob Davies, Lance Parker (Alex) & Ross Parker (Jenny) and Ava Savoy; ten great grandchildren and one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Babin; parents, Simon & Alice Bourque Babin and godmother, Ola Humpreys.
Family and friends are invited to attend his celebration of life at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 1022 N. Burnside Ave., Gonzales, LA on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 9:30am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am officiated by Father Eric Gyan. Graveside service will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales, LA.
