Hazel Margaret Babin

Hazel M. Babin, a resident of Gonzales, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the age of 96. Hazel was a kind and caring person who thrived on her children and grandchildren. She had many hobbies, but some of her favorite hobbies were quilting, crocheting, and gardening. Hazel was an excellent homemaker and cook. She always exhibited a positive Christian attitude. Hazel is survived by her sons, Carrol "Poto" Babin and wife, Joyce, Terry Babin, Mike Babin and wife, Kim; daughter, Judy Bourque and husband Allison; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Babin and sons, Calvin and Sammy Babin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 8:00 am until 9:30 am. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memories Cemetery on Hwy 30 in Gonzales.
