A loving and devoted husband to his wife of 46 yrs. Ruth Mire Hanson. A native of Baton Rouge, he spent the majority of his life in Dutchtown, La where he graduated in the Class of 1966 from Dutchtown High. He was a father and hero of three children; two daughters Ashlee Renee and Bethe Anne and a son Brent Aaron all of Gonzales area. Never more than a phone call away to three grandchildren; two grandsons Devan and Mason Hanson and a granddaughter Olivia Navarro. He was greatly admired by all who knew him for his quiet and gentle ways, especially Johnny Navarro, Mathew Decoteau and Marisa Strack Hanson. He leaves behind a sister Elaine Hanson Featherston and a brother Alvin Hanson. Preceded in death by his parents Harry P. Hanson Sr. and Gracie Gautreau Hanson and a brother Glen David Hanson. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener; he loved being outdoors. For nearly 30 years, he was employed by Borden Chemical and an Animal Control Officer for Ascension Parish Animal Control. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans Chapter 725 and American Legion Post #81. He was a member of the East Ascension Sportsman League, the NRA, and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and will resume at St. John the Evangelist on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am Officiated by Rev. Eric Gyan followed by Interment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Prairieville.
