Frieda C. Kenney

Frieda Claire Kenney, 87, a native of Cuba, MO, and resident of Gonzales, LA, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Family was her top priority, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Frieda was an avid reader who loved to travel and had a passion for gardening, sewing, and crafting. She found joy in making dolls and building miniature houses, and she had a unique talent for taxidermy. Additionally, her fascination with space programs reflected her curious spirit and love for learning. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Wayne Kenney; her parents, Clarence Shelley and Frieda Tucker Shelley; and her brother, Robert Shelley. She is survived by her daughters, Shelley Braud and Robin Lenox; her sons, Joe Kenney and Alan Kenney; her brother, William Shelley; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA. Visitation will resume on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11 AM until the service at 1 PM at James and Gahr Funeral Home in Salem, MO. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, MO. Frieda will be remembered as an incredible person who touched the lives of many.
