Elva M. Parent

Elva Mae Nealy Parent passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024 at the age of 94. She was a resident of Gonzales. She is survived by her 4 children, Kenny (Arlene) Sutton, Paulette (Randy) Lambert, Roy (Charlene) Sutton and Darrell (Kathy) Sutton; grandchildren, Suzanne, Scott, Shelley, Cole, Trish, Royce, Dane, Nacole & Erica; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 3 brothers, Corbett (Beverly) Bercegeay, Wilfred “Ponk” (Sue) Bercegeay and Valmond (Rita) Bercegeay. She is preceded in death by her late husbands, Grover Sutton, William “Max” Nealy and Evert Parent; her parents, Rudolph and Vella Bercegeay; sisters, Mary Lee Bourgeois, Wilma Johnson, Ozile Babin and Ruby Lee Babin; her brothers, Carmen Bercegeay, Wilbert “Pete” Bercegeay; and grandson, Cory Lambert. Mae Mae, as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her, was a very special lady. She was a devout catholic and a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. She loved to cook, and she was happiest when she was cooking for her family. She loved to take care of everyone, and she will be truly missed by all those that loved her. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the great care she received from Ilena Bernard, Pinnacle Hospice and Ascension Oaks. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at St. Mark Catholic church on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Committal service will follow at Hope Haven in Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Scott Sutton, Royce Sutton, Dane Sutton, Cole Lambert, Cade Conyers, Jason Conyers, Aaron Keller and Cody Bazile.
