Dorothy Durbin Dozier went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 30, 2016 at the age of 83. She graciously loved her family and was loved by them. As a retired LPN, many years were spent caring for the needs of others. She was preceded in death by her first love Glenn S. Durbin. They had 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Elmo Delaune, Kerry and Elbridge Charlton, Tracy and Billy McAdams; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Then she was blessed to share her life with the late George Dozier. Survived by a stepdaughter Linda Dozier; 2 stepsons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Brenda Dozier and Darryl and Marguerite Dozier; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was welcomed and loved by his sisters and their families. She was also survived by her brother James W. Parks, Jr. Preceded in death by her parents James William and Bertha Stewart Parks; sisters Edith Shirah, Marie Dabadie and Virginia Kleinpeter; brother Arthur Gaines. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 5PM – 8PM. Visitation will resume at Ascension Baptist on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 8AM until her celebration of her life at 10AM conducted by Rev. Robert Lawrence. She was so blessed by her Ascension Baptist Church family. Burial will follow in Green Oaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge.
