Susan Martinez

Our loving Mom passed away peacefully the evening of Friday, December 23, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 30, 1928 to Ysaura and Julio Costello. She spent her early childhood years in Mexico and then Nevada before the family moved to Los Angeles. She met our Dad, Max, at Lincoln High School. They married in 1949 and started their family shortly thereafter.

Our Mom was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband, Max and son, Charles. She is survived by, and will be sorely missed by, her brother, Fred; daughters Vicki (Alan) Ward, Kathi, Alice (Laurie Koerner) and Lori (Bill) Olin; daughter-in-law, Teresa, and grandchildren Carla Martinez; Kathryn and Stuart Ward; Alyssa (Jeff) Coulter and Shelby Olin and her fiancé, Christian Tyler; and a host of other family and friends.

The family would like to thank her long-time physician, Dr. Sonal Lalwani, as well as Bernie Redil, Darlene Guadron, and Jackie Jones from Vitas Healthcare/Hospice Care for the support and care they gave our Mom and family.

A private family service is being held at Oakdale Memorial Park.
