March 19, 1945 – November 27, 2018
Mary Jane Blakeslee passed away November 27, 2018, after a horse riding accident. She loved horses and horse riding since she was a young girl and since retiring from teaching. She spent many hours riding, walking and caring for the horses. She was generous with her time and spirit and helped someone everyday.
Mary Jane taught elementary school in Huntington Beach for over 40 years. She was also a mentor to others teachers. Over her 42 year career, she was recognized several times for her work and dedication.
Mary Jane had many interest. She loved to travel. She was devoted Anglophile as her mother was born in England two years before the family moved to Azusa, California. She kept up on the current events, loved the Dodgers and had a great sense of humor. She played piano and loved music.
She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Blakeslee and Mary Irene, “Renee”, Jones. Her friends and family feel the loss of Mary Jane's sudden death and will miss her love, joy for life and support.
Services will be held at Oakdale Cemetery on January 19, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
