Pittsburgh, PA to parents John Joseph (Jack) Kennedy and
Alma Harriet (Rouser) Kennedy. The Kennedy family, which
also included younger brothers James (deceased) and Fr.
Richard (deceased), moved from Pittsburgh to Altadena, CA in
1951. Jack's youngest brother, Michael (Nora), was born two
years later.
Jack attended St. Elizabeth Catholic School and Eliot Junior
High School in Altadena, and graduated from John Muir High
School in Pasadena in 1961. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in
1962 and served until 1968. After his military service, Jack
began his career in the roofing business, working for
Hammond Roofing. A few years later, Jack obtained his
contractor's license, started up his own company, Kennedy
Roofing and then, after he got his general contractor's
license, he renamed his company Jack Kennedy California
Contractors.
In his spare time, Jack enjoyed collecting and refurbishing
vintage automobiles. His other interests included boating,
Jeeping and road trips in the family RV.
In May of 1964, Jack married his wife of 58 years, Charleen
(Ulmer). In addition to his wife, he is survived by two
children, Tammara (Morgan VanBuskirk, fiance') and John F.
Kennedy Jr. (Juanita), grandchildren, Briana Casey (Richard
Mendez, fiance), Cameron Casey, Angelo, Gabriel, Melissa
Reyna, and great grandchild, Damien Mendez.
