We’ll Dad. Today you were laid to rest next to the love of your life, on her birthday. You got everything you asked for, PLUS! It was a beautiful service and a great party after. I’ve never seen so many cars in that cemetery. May you Rest In Peace. Know that you’ll be missed every day for the rest of our lives. . I’ll be up to see you as often as time allows. I still can’t believe you’re gone.  Ed Garrity said it best, you always had sunshine on your face. I’ll never forget that. 

I met Emil when I was five years old. My dad would bring me up to the Forest Park Runners club meetings. I was a shy kid back then, but Emil helped me break out of my shell with his sense of humor and contagious smile. Emil is an unforgettable person and I am blessed to have gotten to know him. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. 

sorry for your lost i will miss not seeing him when he comes to pa. I was his bartender at lengyels and he loved my nut roll 

Emil was a good friend of mine.  We would often get together for a sandwich and maybe a libation.  He was a great friend and member of the Forest Park Running Club for many years.  He was instrumental in making our annual 4 mile race the success that it was.  He also especially loved  meeting new members such as Ashley Villani and Luba Ostashevsky who both asked to be remembered to the Sofsky family.  They each said that they treasured fond memories of Emil and his sunny disposition.

My Condolences to all of The Sofsky Family you are in my thoughts and prayers. Emil was kind, funny definitely very spunky and I am happy to have known him and had the chance to spend time with him and his family on many occasions. 
You will be missed greatly.

Dear Grandpa, 

I wish we had more years together. The memories we do share I will never forget. You were always so uplifting and encouraging, supporting my endeavors as a single mother and respiratory therapist. 
I’m so thankful Avalon got to meet her great grandpa and that we were able to capture those moments in photos we can keep forever. 💜

Dad, 
I still can’t believe you’re gone. The 3 weeks you were in the hospital, and even now, I reach for the phone to call you to talk about what’s going on that moment, or the day.  I miss you so much already. My father, my best friend, my confidant! You gave us so much,  wonderful summers, time at the zoo. I’ll miss the retirement luncheon every October. We had a blast. My alarm is set for every night at 7:40pm. I’ll talk to you then. That tradition will never die! I love you!

You were one of a kind.  Always fun...always positive...always the “life of the party”.  My fondest memory of you was the first time I met you!  I had just met Chris and he invited me to a bbq at your house. He told me I was going to meet the “Sofsky crew”.  Knowing there were so many of you made me quite nervous.  I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into. As soon as I walked into the backyard you were the first one to greet me with that charm that only you had.  You made me feel so special and that I was part of your family from day one. For that I will forever be grateful. Thank you. ❤️

I will miss you deeply. Super Bowl Sundays will never be the same without you.  Say hi to Maggie and fly high with the Angels Big E.

Uncle Emil,
Always cool and always treated us with kindness and fun when we were young and growing up. In my life's journey I was asked many times who my Godfather is and my response would be "My Uncle Emil". Last evening I gave alot of thought to the last time I spoke with you. It was four years ago at my mom's wake. I remember how good you looked. It took me back to a time when we saw each other just about every week. Until we meet again, I know Heaven has you. Rest easy Uncle Emil ❤

Dear Dad,
Words cannot express the pain and sorrow we feel in our hearts for losing you. You weren't my father-in-law, you became my father. We made lots of beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. The Oktoberfest cruise to Bear Mountain, Mets games, trips to Saratoga Racetrack, Superbowl games, Christmas at Rockefeller Center just to name a few.
