He was born in Dallas, TX, but with his parents Ira S. and Mamie Griffin Birdsong (both predeceased) to the current town of Wittman, AZ. He is survived by his 3 children Carol Spinney, William H. Dad graduated from Glendale High School, hopped a train to Washington, Oregon, and California to visit a few uncles but returned to Glendale to work for Grandpa's Birdsong Electric Shop. He met Mom, Agnes M. Kremer (predeceased) while on a visit to Gilbert, AZ and they married in 1942. Dad joined the Navy Seabees during the Korean War, sailing the Atlantic, lighting airfields in Cuba (Guantanamo), Bermuda (St. David's Island), and New Foundland (Argentina). Dad retired from Luke Air Force Base as an Electrical Engineer for 23 years, to enjoy his hobbies of welding, ironwork, automotive mechanic, and gardening. He learned to use a computer at 91 for games and emails. Dad will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. Dad lived a long, active, productive life and leaves a lasting legacy. He is at eternal rest in our family plot at Resthaven Park in Glendale.
