Thomas O. Barnes

passed from this life on December 28, 2012, at the age of 91, to live once again with the Lord and his beloved wife Merry Florence Barnes. Tom was born August 12, 1921 in Phoenix, AZ to Arthur and Mary Barnes (both deceased). He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII and was stationed in San Diego, CA, where he met and married his wife of 64 years. After their discharge, they moved back to Phoenix to begin their family. Tom worked for the AZ Game & Fish Dept for 32 yrs and retired as Chief of Law Enforcement in 1979. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to go camping with his family. He was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ

of Latter Day Saints and faithfully served to the end. He is survived by his 4 children; daughter Carol Farrell (Bill, deceased), Phx, AZ; daughter Christine Perkins (Brent, deceased), Snowflake, AZ; son Jerry Barnes, Snowflake, AZ; daughter JoAnn Slocum (David), Taylor, AZ; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, La Pradera Park Ward, located at 4748 W. Orangewood Ave, Glendale, AZ. Visitation will be available at 9 am with services starting at 10 am. A graveside dedication will follow at the Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Rd. Phx, AZ.
