Bob made sure to enjoy his life to the fullest and was constantly accomplishing and experiencing new and exciting things. His life was one you could write a best-selling novel. As a young boy he delivered newspapers on his bike in the early morning darkness. He put himself through the Brophy private school with scholarships and work programs, ran bootleg runs in Georgia, flew in helicopters over constant gunfire in Vietnam, graduated from ASU amongst the first set of “Technologists” degrees offered in history, skied on snow and water, piloted both boats and planes, restored and raced exotic cars, rode and built motorcycles, put together models and R/C cars and planes, ziplined, antiqued, created and built computers, designed and built a cabin, a workshop and house additions and so, so much more. He also helped raise two crazy boys into the accomplished men they are today, all while he obtaining several patents, and earning so many professional accolades that it is impossible to count. Even with all the adventures and accolades, if you sat down and chatted with him about it, Bob would have told you that of all the things mentioned above and all the things that were not, he was most proud that he was lucky enough to find and marry the love of his life, Bev. A true renaissance man, he eclectically enjoyed many, many different things and wore many, many hats, both literally and figuratively. A husband, a son, a father, a brother, a grandfather, an uncle, a genius, a soldier, an adventurer, an inventor, an investor, a landlord, an engineer, a technologist, a pilot, a biker, a boat captain, a builder, a mechanic, an electrician, a sudoku master, a musician, a scholar, a producer, a video editor, a handyman, a confidant, a leader and the list just keeps going on and on. Known for his charismatic antics and witty sense of humor, Bob would steal the attention of a room, and his ever-showing intelligence would leave the ones around him astounded. Everyone laughed at least once and most likely learned a thing or two after spending just a few minutes with him. He loved to pass on his knowledge and boy did he have a lot of it to share! He was the greatest storyteller, the least judgmental person and always quick with a joke to lighten the mood. It can be said that every single person who came across him was positively affected by his commanding presence in at least one way or another. May he rest in the glorious peace he deserves.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, Helen and Clarence, and his brother Terry. Bob’s legacy will now continue on through the lives of the family he loved so dear. He leaves behind his loving wife Beverly, whom he loved through thick and thin for over 48 years, the two sons they raised together and their wives, the eldest Chris and his wife Melissa, the youngest Rick and his wife Cristina, as well as Bob and Beverly’s two grand-children Alexis and Gavin, Bob’s brother Mark and Mark’s children and grandchildren, and Bob and Bev’s two pups Mina and Abby, all of whom he loved very much.
