Marjorie Marie Jeffers of Sun City, AZ, entered into heaven on January 17, 2019 at 86 years of age. Marjorie, the eldest of twelve children, was born in Flasher, ND, on January 29, 1932 to Carl and Louise (Wilson) Meyer and was baptized on Feb. 28, 1932. Raised on a farm in rural ND, she attended a one room country school for her elementary years of education. Marjorie was confirmed on July 1, 1945 and attended Northwestern Lutheran Academy in Mobridge, SD, a boarding school, for her high school years. After attending Dr. Martin Luther College, a teachers' training college in New Ulm, MN, Marjorie taught kindergarten through fourth grade for three years in Valentine, NE. While in Valentine, Marjorie met her husband, Clifton Dean Jeffers, a WWII veteran and they were married on June 22, 1953. In the first years of their marriage, they lived in North Platte, NE, where their first daughter, Peggy, was born. In 1957, they moved to the San Francisco Bay Area since Clifton had taken a job with United Air Lines. While in the Bay Area, their second daughter, Karen, and their son, Gary, were born. As her children grew older, Marjorie became a substitute school teacher and later on, Marjorie also obtained her real estate and broker's license. In 1983, Marjorie and Clifton retired and moved to AZ. Their first retirement home was in Prescott and later they moved to Goodyear. Marjorie loved her Savior and was very instrumental in helping to start mission churches in both California and Arizona. A few years after her husband's death, Marjorie moved to Sun City where she spent her final years at Royal Oaks Retirement Community. Marjorie will be remembered most for her love and dedication to her family and her love for furthering the good news of her Lord and Savior.
Marjorie leaves behind her children; Peggy (Dan) Myers, Karen (Paul) Weihing and Gary (Brenda) Jeffers; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; siblings Doris, Florence, Herman, Henry, Bob, Arnie, Lori and cousin, Mary Jane. She is preceded in death by her husband Clifton, her parents, her siblings (Walter, Jim, Ray and Carol), and her son-in-law Dan.
Services for Marjorie will be held at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 9925 N 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ 85351 on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Visitation is at 10:00, the service at 11:00, followed by burial next to her husband at National Memorial Cemetery of AZ at 2:00.
