Larry Gene Hinkley, 76, of Phoenix, AZ passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 20, 2022. He was met at heaven's gate by his wife of 51 years, Linda, who moved to heaven just over 8 months ago, his parents Earl and Juanita Hinckley, his in-laws Robert and Laura Hunt and so many wonderful friends and family members lost along the way.
Larry was born and grew up in Ohio, then later moved to Phoenix with his family in his teens and graduated from Carl Hayden High School. After high school he joined the Navy. When his Navy tour was over he went to work for a lumber yard in Phoenix. He worked in lumber for over 35 years.
Larry loved westerns (especially John Wayne movies), baseball and football, fishing and his family. He loved a good "get together." Whether it was a backyard bbq or one of his wife's planned parties. He had a gentle nature, was easy-going and extremely generous and loving.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Lisa Grimes (Timothy) of Fort Worth, TX and his son, Lonnie Hinkley (Melissa), his grandchildren, Marcus, Nathaniel, Dalis, Ashlyn, Mackenzie, Morgan and Nathan and his extended family and friends.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated. His immediate family will celebrate him in a private way. Those who knew him can celebrate him by raising a beer, watching a game or sharing a laugh or a story. Until we meet again.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.westresthavenfuneralhome.com for the Hinkley family.
