George Valencia, 80, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away peacefully on March 4, 2019. George was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Gorgona and Manulla (Martinez) Valencia, on March 2, 1939. He attended Glendale High School. On June 25, 1961, George married Maria Anaya in Phoenix, Arizona. He was employed in the maintenance department of Honeywell for 39 years.
George enjoyed going deep sea fishing, spending money at the casinos, trips with his family and traveling to Mexico. He liked to watch football. The San Diego Chargers and Washington Redskins were two of his favorite teams.
George is survived by his wife of 57 years Maria Valencia, sons George Valencia and Greg Valencia, daughters Diana Valencia and Jeanina Perea, sister Lupe De La Huerta, along with ten grandkids and ten great-grandkids. He is preceded in death by his brother Manuel Frausto, sister Gumecinda (chinky), in- laws Piedad and Mary Anaya, Gilbert Anaya, Jerry Anaya, Ladislado Anaya, Gloria Gonzales and Mary Lopez.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 6pm at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N 59th Ave, Glendale, Arizona. A rosary will follow at 7pm. A funeral Mass we be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 5614 W. Orangewood Ave. Glendale, Arizona.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery 6450 W. Northern Ave. Glendale, Arizona Following the burial, the family will have the reception at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 7575 N. 67th Ave. Glendale, Arizona from 1-4 pm.
