Betty’s heart, a well of love, resilient, recycling life’s lessons with perpetual love, tenderness, kindness, and generosity. The more she gave, the larger her smile, and the more the joyous contagious gifts that we received. One of Betty’s last gifts to us is the beautiful memories that will always be in our hearts!

Fourth to arrive , first to depart
A blanket of caring woven into your being
The warp made of softness, and weft of fierce love, 
making a strong blanket of care to wrap around those who needed it
Raising children and children of children
And anyone in your sphere who required care.

I have rounded up all the words I can find 
And captured them in the corral of my mind 
Searching for the correct one to describe how much I will miss you. 
But the words continue to circle and I cannot rope the ones I need
I am sure your last thoughts on this earth were, “I hope (insert name) is doing OK. I should check on (him/her)”
I am going to miss you. Your presence on this earth made it a better place and after a lifetime of selfless caring for others, this is your legacy.
Certainly a legacy to make all your siblings proud of you. 

My regret; we spent too much time apart, but as you once told me, you and I chose our own lives, you to the desert, me to the sea. So I bid you farewell,

When we were children, Betty, who was younger than three of us would entertain us with fantastic stories, made up on the spur of the moment. It was she who decided that we five kids were going to put on a circus in the front yard and invite neighborhood children. Before long she had us romping around in blankets holding lion, monkey and elephant heads painted on cardboard and doing acrobatics. 

Betty grew up to be an unstoppable force of nature. She embodied the Bible verse which says, “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.” Many years later, when my mom needed to be put in a home for memory care, Betty scheduled a single weekend to fly to Stockton where our parents lived, find a facility and get mom the care she needed. When the staff at the facility told her that it was going to take some time, Betty told them in no uncertain terms that “they were going to have a room for mom today!” As usual, when Betty with her big heart of love was helping someone, whatever was needed got done!
I remember my sister’s beautiful singing voice. In a crowd of singers, I could identify her voice praising God. And I am grateful that when it was time and she went to sleep and woke up in one of those heavenly mansions which her Savior had promised her.

Betty’s love had no boundaries. Her love, generosity, and tenderness were global, especially for those in need.

Gary and  I were so thankful that Betty was our son Cary’s mother-in-LOVE, because we knew what a vibrant,loving  & talented  lady she was.  We also knew she would be more like a MOM , than any typical “in law”. She had more love and  generosity & talent in her little finger than most have in their whole body.  She taught her children about God, and she was admired by all who met her. Those who didn’t meet her missed out!
She and her beloved husband are reunited 
in Christ, and Betty is saying, “ Don’t cry- just hurry up and join us!” 🥰






.  Betty did such an amazing She had Ice Sculptures on the tables at the reception (it was 112° outside no less!)  That’s the kind of lady she was.
Now Betty and Chuck are together with Christ, and they will be sorely missed!

Betty (on the left) was always one of my favorite cousins.  Her bright smile and mischevious mind kept us out of trouble most of the time and kids.  

It has been many many years since I last saw mema. She was an amazing woman. She always let my sister and I attend any party, outing, and family vacation. She included us in everything.  She had the biggest heart and cared deeply for her family and friends. I remember a trip we took with Mema, probably at the age of 10, when I had lost my purse and all my money. I was upset, and the next day she surprised me with a new purse and had replaced my money I lost. She went out of her way to make sure we all had fun and made great memories.
 She will be missed, what an amazing kind woman. I strive to be more selfless like Mema. 🩷

I have so many fond memories of both Betty and Chuck. They were not only my neighbors and friends but my extended family. Betty treated me like a daughter and my kids like her own grandchildren. She took them on family vacations and welcomed them in her home with open arms. It was natural for her to share her love because she had so much to give. 
I remember how she jumped to my defense and protection during a rather tough school camping trip with my daughter. She was like a fierce momma bear and even swapped cabins with us so my daughter could enjoy one night with her friends, selfless as she was.
Even when we moved out of state, she came to visit. I only wish I stayed in touch more myself.
I've always been in awe of her integrity and warmth and inspired by her independence and giving nature. If you met her even once, you were a lucky person.
You will be missed dearly Betty. Say hi to Chuck for me. I'm sure you both are elated to be together again and at home in Heaven where the angels are basking in your light.

So many great memories with Mema! All the sleepovers, tea parties, and lovely dinners. The New house was like a second home to me as a kid. I will forever cherish the times spent together. Love you! RIP ❤️
