She was born in La Harpe, Illinois on June 7th, 1943.
Barbara, also known as Barb, graduated from Nauvoo-Colusa High School in 1961. She moved to Alabama then moved to Phoenix, AZ where she left this world to watch over us from Heaven.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny and Jimmy Bonner; her sisters, Judy Smith and Donna Cook; step-sisters, Donna Delozer and Norma Neill; brother, Dan Cook; two daughters-in-law's Bonnie and Traci Bonner; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 nephews and 1 niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Bonner; mom Velma Louise (Cook) Scanlan; dad, Eldred (Babe) Cook; step-dad, Dorren Scanlan; brother, Lanny Arthur Cook.
Barbara worked for Rocky Mountain Bank Note (check printing) for many years. She started at the Arizona Department of Veterans Services in December 2000, until she retired in 2016.
Barbara loved to laugh. She loved practical jokes, listening to and watching good ole' country music, pottery, jigsaw puzzles, reading, games, and play cards with her family.
A celebration of life for Barbara will be held Monday, October 9, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any animal charity, or a hungry family in need.
