Wilber Lloyd "Bud" Collins, 86, passed away from Covid-19 related complications on January 7, 2021. Born August 14, 1934, he graduated in 1952 from Gilman City High School in Gilman City, MO. Bud married Mavis Heitz in 1954 and moved to Kansas City, MO, where he began a successful career as a salesman. In the 1970’s, he managed Kidder Plywood and Lumber Company in Kidder, MO before founding Bud Collins Sales Agency. Bud attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, MO where he and Mavis were greeters and very active in their small group.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Eileen (Heitz) Collins, his brother Lawrence Dale Collins, and parents, Ruble Wilber and Orpha Jane (Johnson) Collins.
Bud is survived by his children, Terry Collins of Lenexa, KS and Linda Becker (Damon) of Kansas City, MO. Bud had 3 grandchildren, Kamela, Josiah, and Gabrielle Becker.
In lieu of an in-person memorial service, Terry and Linda invite friends and family to pay their respects virtually under the "Share A Memory" tab on this website page.

Terry and Linda would like to thank the incredible staff at North Kansas City Hospital for their tender care over Bud in the last weeks of his life even as they endured extraordinary conditions. Additionally, Terry and Linda would like to thank the staff at Senior Star at Wexford Place Independent Living Community for providing Bud and Mavis such a loving environment the past three years.
