I worked with Rick at Providence Medical Center for over a year. He was one of the best people I have ever worked with. He was always funny and wanted to talk and tell stories. We really connected. Sad to hear of his death. Really a great person. I have worked with a lot of supervisors over the years, but he was one of the easiest to work with and for. He will be sadly missed in the profession. 

Much love to Mary and all the family.  We were sad to hear of Rick’s passing but comforted by the end to his long suffering.  We have many happy, warm memories of visiting Rick when he was in Lamoni.  Wonderful memories.  May God’s peace be with you all at this time.

My thoughts and prayers to the family. I went to Lamoni high school with Rick and was on the wrestling team with him. 
Rick had a great sense of humor and was a good dude. Always had a smile . 
So sorry for the families loss. 

My early days in Lamoni were spent in a neighborhood full of kids. We all played, rode bikes, explored and grew up together. Rick and his family were just around the corner from us and very close as the crow flies (and children run). We enjoyed scouting and sports in junior high and high school and all the other activities young folk find themselves doing. What I remember most was how friendly Rick was and he always had a smile waiting to be shared. I'm sorry that he has left this world way too soon and extend my heart and prayers to you all. 

Like many of our class, I started kindergarten with Rick and graduated High School with him.  Cub Scouts at his house with Boots as the leader.  Rick was one of my closest friends in High School and between wrestling, golf, yearbook, classes and non-school activities, we spent hundreds of hours together.  He taught me how to safely handle firearms, we scoured the country roads together, searched for old cemeteries that Carl knew about, went drift "bashing" and road sledding in the winters, fishing and noodling in the rivers, hunting and mostly hanging out and surviving High School years.  He was ready with a laugh and always a good friend to me.  It breaks my heart that he's gone too soon.  God bless Rick's family.

Rick was someone who I only recently was able to get to know in the last 2 years. When Rick’s health declined I was able to visit him during the lock downs and the times of no visitor policies in the hospitals. It was an honor and privilege to get to know Rick over our regular visits. The advocacy, determination, and love Molly and Andrew share for their father is truly remarkable. 
They both have done everything under the sun to ensure Rick had everything he needed and wanted while in the care of others. 
One of the times I was visiting I was helping tidy up, putting stuff away etc.
He jokingly said “oh don’t open that drawer”, so I opened the drawer. It was a drawer full of all his favorite snacks and quarters for the vending machines sent by family. 
We then shared snacks and a pop together while watching TV land with my dog on his lap. 

My deepest condolences to all of Rick’s family and friends. May you forever hold your treasured memories in your heart. I hope your memories bring you comfort and peace when you need it most. 

I only met Rick a few times, in my younger more wild days. When he learned that I was in the military he excitedly hurried around the house to show me his collection of firearms both new and antique. The truth is, he always made me feel welcome in his home. His passion for family and his love for animals was very evidently passed down to his daughter Molly whom I was closest to in the family. I feel lucky to have met him and know that his passion for life and care for others will live on in his children. My deepest and most sincere condolences. 

So Sorry for the loss of Rick , Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend and Family Member.  Remember the good memories that he shared in life with us all. A few of my favorite are going hunting and late night fishing on the banks of Smithville Lake. Also memories of family dinners and Holidays  are lifelong. He was a good electrician that we spent time on jobs together. May memories that we cherish of Rick live on in our lives.  Rest In Peace !

Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting Rick, knowing his daughter Molly feels awfully close to knowing Rick. Molly's love and admiration for her father are absolutely limitless. Just as schools shifted online, flights got canceled, and strict hospital visitation protocols began Rick's health declined. None of that stopped Molly from making many trips from DC to KC to support her father and to do all within her power to ease his pain. If the true greatness of a parent is reflected in the devotion of the children, then Molly's and Andrew's devotion are proof of Rick's greatness and his incredible contribution to this world.

I'm sad to hear that Rick has passed away.
I worked with Rick off and on for over 25 years. He talked a lot about his son and daughter.  He was very proud of them. We ran several jobs togeather at Capital. I have a lot of good memories of Rick. He was a good electrician.
