Patricia (Patty) Diane Shafer, age 80, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 28. Patty was born on March 15, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas to Franklin and Alice Robinson. She was raised in North Kansas City, Missouri and was a 1960 graduate of North Kansas City High School. In 1963, she welcomed a daughter, Tamara Lynn and then in 1965, a son, Scott Michael. She married Walter Shafer on May 2, 1978 and together began raising their 5 children.
Patty was a Credit Correspondent for Hallmark Cards before retiring in 1997. Soon after retiring, she and Walter moved to Chandler, Arizona where they lived until 2019 at which point they moved back to Kansas City to be near family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Alice and a sister, Sandra Day. Patty is survived by her husband Walter; daughter Tammy Romero(Ernesto); son Scott Martinez(Angela); step-daughters Sherri Miller(Mike), Becky Wilson; and step-son Kevin Shafer. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Alicia, Daniel and CJ; and 8 great grandchildren. Patty also leaves behind other family members as well as numerous friends.
A visitation for Patricia will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A loving remembrance will occur Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow, all at White Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, MO 64119.
