Merrilee Anderson (Wobbema), 82, died peacefully on May 6th, 2024. Merrilee was born on November 20th, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa to William and Pearl Wobbema. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City, Iowa. Merrilee met Russell Anderson at age 14 in Okoboji, Iowa during a vacation, and then again four years later at Midland University in Freemont, Nebraska. They married August 25th, 1962 and honeymooned in Okoboji. Merrilee happily worked at Mid-Continent Public Library for thirty years as a story-time teller. When Merrilee and Russell retired, they spent much of their time in Okoboji at the family lake house.
Merrilee is survived by sons Steve (Kim) Anderson, Michael Anderson, and daughter, Kristen Anderson-Branson, and her 7 grandchildren Megan, Lindsey, Brooke, Amber, Hailey, Hannah, and Jake.
