Jerry was born on October 1, 1942 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Phillip and Dolly May (Langford) Kerr.
He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Wyandotte High School. Post-graduation Jerry joined the United States Marine Corp and served on the USS York Town as the Captain’s Orderly.
On April 4, 1964, he married Susanne E. Fountain and together they started their home in the Kansas City, Kansas area.
Jerry had a lifelong career in the trucking industry, retiring as the owner of Kerr Cartage.
He was an extremely proud father and grandfather. Telling all kinds of stories about Marine Corp. life. Jerry enjoyed coaching softball, baseball, football, basketball for his son and daughter’s teams.
Jerry and Susanne were very fortunate to have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Nancy Huntsman, Sue McNamara, and Debbie Saunders; a brother, Robert Kerr.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Susanne; his son, Robert (AnnMarie) Kerr; his daughter, Deborah Kerr-Spaw; his brother, Howard (Paula) Saunders; grandchildren, Tsivia (Mark), Torian, Trevan, Truman, Brooke, Paige, and Wyatt; and his great grandson, Loren.
