Doris Eva Dibben Peterson passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. She was a wife, a mother, the carpool mom, she’s the mommy you could always go to because you knew she would lend you her support no matter what it was. She was the mother that baked the bread that would fill the house with an aroma we children will never forget. Our mom would have special meals for us when dad was working out of town & my favorite was Friday with hotdogs & mustard, refried beans and fritos, followed by a Mr. Goodbar. Our mom made the mundane fun & our mother lived & breathed for her children. She nursed out illnesses, our hurts real or imaginary, & we always knew we were loved. Our mother had grace, strength & courage watching one child leave the house to marry followed in 3 weeks by the marriage of another the same day as the death of yet another. Mom lost 3 children within three weeks & I can only imagine the pain she felt in her new empty nest syndrome. I will always remember dancing with her at my sister’s wedding, stoic, proud with great posture & a beautiful surreal smile fighting back tears she never made visable. She is joining her husband, Donald Richard Peterson of 35 years of marriage and son, Reggie. She is survived by her son, Richard Peterson; daughter, Regina (David) Delegato; and six grandchildren. Her siblings, Dolly Bugbee, John Dibben, and Bud Dibben (Kathy), and many nieces and nephews. She passed away at home in the loving arms of her sister and best friend Dolly, niece, Vicky and husband, Mark, nephews, Danny and Brian all of whom took great and loving care of her through her battle with cancer. A Celebration of Her Life will be 3:30-5 PM Wednesday June 13, 2018 at White Chapel Funeral Home.
