Charles was born on the 22nd of August, 1945 in Tampa, Florida to Charles John Rudolph and Marjorie Rudolph. He is survived by his wife, Theresa, and his children Karen Wilson, DVM, (Cody Wilson PhD), Charles J. Rudolph, III, OD, Victoria Rudolph RN, and his grandchildren Kyle Wilson, Carlie Wilson, Claire Wilson, Charles J. Rudolph, IV, Liam Rudolph, Mikaela Copley and his sister, Janet Rudolph Cox, (Fred Cox), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
After graduating with a BA in Chemistry from Austin College, Sherman, Texas in 1966 and a PhD in Biochemistry, summa cum laude, from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma, he went on to earn a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) in 1977 while serving as Associate Professor and Chairman of the Biochemistry Department. Upon graduation, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri and was co-founder of McDonagh Medical Center in Gladstone, Missouri where he practiced for 46 years. He never formally retired because of the love of caring for his patients.
He had many honors including Basic Science Teacher of the year at TCOM, and the American Oil Chemists Honored Student Award. He co-authored the book A Collection of Published Papers Showing the Efficacy of EDTA Chelation Therapy, a collection of 30 scientific papers on the alternative medicine technique of chelation therapy in the treatment of degenerative diseases. He was a national and international lecturer and professor on the subject. He was a past member of the American College for Advancement in Medicine and a former member of the American Board of Chelation Therapy. He always commented that it was very satisfying to provide alternative care to traditional medicine.
His generous, caring, and fun-loving spirit reached beyond his immediate family to many of his friends, patients, employees, and their families. He will be dearly missed.
A visitation for Charles will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119, with the funeral service at 2:00 PM. A committal service will occur following the service in the White Chapel Cemetery.
